We received quotes for various parts of the project work and have a plan for a way forward. come to the meetings to see where we are up to.
November 2011 - Hyndburn council said yes to our proposals of locally grown food in a community garden in Oak Hill park.

We have had confirmation from the Lewis Carroll Society that the Alice Liddell who Lewis Carroll mod-led his book Alice in Wonderland on was the Same Alice who later married the owner of our Oak hill park Reginald Hargreaves.

The Hargreave family owned Calico Printing firm at broad oak works  and lived in Oak Hill park in the mansion house that was sadly demolished.

Alice Liddell married Reginald Hargreaves, on 15 September 1880, at the age of 28 in Westminster Abbey.

Eat me and drink me are catalysts for many of Alice’s adventures in Wonderland so this is a perfect theme for a locally grown food garden, especially when lead by Incredible Edible Accrington, Members of other IE agree with me that we all have a touch of the Mad Hatter and March Hare in our make up.

There will be a meeting 16th November 1900 in the park pub, 68 Manchester road, Accrington to discuss the design please if you live in the area and want to be involved do go along.
